As a greyhound owner, you want whats best for your hound, and one way to show them your love is by making homemade dog treats! Often, store bought treats can be expensive and may contain preservatives, artificial colours and flavours. This recipe only requires four ingredients and is really easy to make!

We use Peamutt Dog Peanut Butter, 340g jar. https://amzn.to/3F7MPHj
By using peanut butter for dogs, we know its safe and dog friendly and does not contain xylitol, which is toxic to dogs. often found in peanut butters for human consumption,
1 Medium Sized Egg
We have made this recipe with a large egg from the fridge which worked just as well!
Rice Flour
Rice flour has the benefit of being gluten free, making it good for greyhounds with sensitive stomachs. It is also high in calcium and vitamins, thus a healthy addition to your home made treats.
Equipment
Kitchen scales or a mug for measuring

Bone Shaped Cookie Cutter https://amzn.to/46nBv5S
To start, preheat your oven to 180° C and prepare your baking tray by lining it with greaseproof paper or greasing it with butter. This will ensure that the dog bones don't stick to the tray while baking.
In a bowl, combine 340g of dog peanut butter and one medium-sized egg. Mix these two ingredients together until well combined.
Next, add 300g of rice flour and 200ml of water to the bowl. Mix everything together until a stiff dough forms. This is where the fun begins!
Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured flat surface. Sprinkle some flour on top of the dough to prevent it from sticking. Use a rolling pin to roll out the dough until it's about 1/2 inch thick.
Grab a bone-shaped cookie cutter and press it into the dough to create bone shapes. You can be as creative as you like with the shapes!
Once you've cut out all the shapes, carefully transfer them to your prepared baking tray. Make sure to leave some space between each bone to allow for even baking.
Pop the tray into the preheated oven and bake the dog bones for approximately 20 minutes or until they turn golden brown. Keep an eye on them as oven temperatures may vary.
Once they're done baking, remove the tray from the oven and let the dog bones cool completely. It's important to let them cool before serving them to your hound to avoid any burns.
And voila! You now have a batch of delicious and home-made Paddy’s Pawlicious Peanut Butter Dog Bones ready to be enjoyed by your hound. I’m sure they’ll appreciate the love and effort you put into making them such a tasty treat.
Store in an airtight container to keep them fresh. They should last for a few weeks, but I’m sure they’ll be scoffed much sooner!

Paddy says: The treats are delightful! If you'd like to share with your hounds friends then you can add a few bone treats to a treat bag and secure with a tie.
This is the treat bag that my hoomum uses: https://amzn.to/3rNhjLx
We trust you enjoy making these home made treats for your greyhound! You can involve your hound in the process, having fun and bonding with your furry friend, whilst making wonderful memories.
